APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR
In February 2004, the Southern Cross broke new ground and invited Mrs Tania April to become the first woman to serve on the Board of Directors in very nearly 100 years.
Regular attendees at meetings will remember Mrs April as Tania Herman, daughter of an equally loyal member, Mr Tony Herman.
Tania has been a member for only 4 years but in that time has made board members aware of her keen interest and understanding of the manner in which the society can be used to best advantage. She has utilised her knowledge to finance her flat in Somerset West and the Society is looking for a dynamic contribution from this young lady.
Recently married, we believe that Tania represents the new face of the Southern Cross management, with a fresh approach, young ideas and a range of contacts from whom we would like to think future, younger, members can be recruited.
Your board voted unanimously in favour of her election and look forward to long service from this remarkable young woman.
