Dear Sir/Madam,
Towards the end of last year we wrote to you regarding the formation of
a new section.
Our form of building society relies on its members maintaining their
membership and, in fact, increasing their holdings by joining new sections as
and when they are started.
Section “L” opened in 1991 and is almost half-way through its expected
life-span.
For the society to continuing functioning, it is vital that a new
section be formed without further delay.
A special appeal is also being made to existing members who have
benefited from the facilities offered by the Southern Cross to encourage new
membership and ensure the continued operations into the foreseeable future and
beyond.
We do not have you on record as having expressed interest in the new
section and ask you now to advise us without further delay whether you have
intentions of extending your involvement.
New rules have been agreed by your board which we will circulate
shortly but we must stress the need to reach a minimum number of shares before
we can proceed with the new section.
Should we not hear from you within the next 14 days we will be calling
you to confirm interest or lack thereof. Our next Board Meeting is scheduled
for 15th June at which the decision to proceed will be taken.
Please will you complete the attached form and return it to us at your
earliest opportunity?
Yours faithfully,
C V JONES
